Since my earliest childhood music is a big part of my life. Like many parents do my parents tried to raise my interest for different instruments and music in general. English flute and xylophon turned not out right, keyboard was a better choice und finally i found with the guitar MY instrument. I learned the first chords from my mother and from this time on i studied chordbooks, folksongs, the mandatory Metallica-ballads (though i never liked the band at all!) and plenty of other campfire material. But when i started smashing Entombedish Death-Metal on my acoustic guitar it was time for the first e-guitar. From then on business as usual: bands, broken fingers, strings, cables, picks, muddy rehearsalrooms, songbook and webresearch became my daily life.

Finally i found my musical home. As friends who became bandmates we started d-vote and created a sound which we call dance-metal. Here i don’t just play guitar but am involved as songwriter as well as creator of funny synthnoises. Moreover these guys are four stage hogs what makes our live-performances a special kind of chaos. Nice work with nice people, what more could one want?

The work with the band forced me to layout our ideas. So i became an audio-engineer and built with the help of my bandmates the d-night-studio. And as if that was not enough i started teaching guitar. In that progress the guitar-studies came up where i can share my knowledge with some success.

„Spiller, what’s that eighty crap supposed to be?“

To improve our bandimage we got ourselves some funny aliases because german names are difficult to use internationally. Why i became eighty will be a question in a quiz for our fans someday. (That’s how predictive we work … and how nuts we are!)

To finish the story: Somehow the name took a life of its own, since you need an account with profile picture and username for everything. And beeing the consequent guy i am i changed my whole web-existace to eighty.

So get used to it!
